…getting an email notice from my front desk (home), while at work that i got flowers. and fb’ing that i got flowers and that unless the person id’s themselves that it’s not ok. and having to explain to my SISTER why i am annoyed and threatened by this “gift”.
rape culture is being expected to accept any intrusion because i am just a woman and woman = asking for it/fucktoy/toy.
at its core, the patriarchy does not view women as HUMAN. we are like cats or dogs at best to men. they don’t mind us being around (on a good day) but they will never ever see us as HUMAN.
I’ve heard a lot of stupid shit about the patriarchy and rape culture, and anthropomorphizing it, but this takes the cake. And thanks for the trigger warning about this story about you receiving flowers, I don’t know what I would have done without it.
Omg no kidding, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at this. Some people have to make an issue about everything and can’t ever just be happy. Good Lord, a guy may actually like you. If he does and is sending you flowers chances are he doesn’t think you are a cat or dog, the only person insinuating such bullshit is YOU so get over yourself.
